Frequently Asked Questions

Donations, receipts, refunds and volunteering.

Is my donation eligible for tax benefit?
Yes. Donations to the foundation are eligible for deduction under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961. Provide your PAN when donating and your receipt will be emailed to you as soon as the payment is confirmed.
How do I get my 80G receipt?
It is emailed automatically once your payment is confirmed, usually within a few minutes. You can also download it any time from your donor account. After the financial year ends, we issue a Form 10BE certificate as well.
Why do you ask for my PAN?
The Income Tax Department requires donation details to be reported donor-wise in Form 10BD. Without a valid PAN, your donation cannot be reported and you will not be able to claim the deduction.
What payment methods can I use?
UPI, debit and credit cards, net banking and wallets. All payments are processed by our payment gateway; we never see or store your card details.
Can I donate from outside India?
Not at present. Indian law requires separate registration under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act before an organisation can accept foreign contributions, so we currently accept donations from Indian donors only.
Can I give every month instead of once?
Yes. Choose the monthly option when you donate and you can pause, change the amount or cancel at any time from your donor account.
What if I donated by mistake?
Write to us within 7 days with your donation reference. If the funds have not yet been disbursed, we will refund to your original payment method within 7–10 working days.
How do I know my money reached the right place?
Every campaign publishes what it raised and posts updates on how the funds were used. You will also receive follow-up updates on the campaigns you supported.
How can I volunteer?
Fill in the volunteer form on our Get Involved page. We run programmes in Kanpur and are always looking for people who can commit regular time.
Do you offer internships?
Yes — across programmes, communications and research. Apply through the internship page and we will get back to you with current openings.
